✦ It was narrated that Abu Hurairah Radi Allahu Anhu said

The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam said: 'The Jews and the Christians do not dye their hair, so be different from them and dye your hair.'"

Sunan Nasaii, Book 48, 5074-Sahih

✦ Jabir bin Abdullah Radi Allahu Anhu  reported that Abu Quhafa Radi Allahu Anhu  was led (to the andience of the Holy Prophet) on the day of the Conquest of Mecca and his head and beard were white like hyssop, whereupon Allah's Messenger Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam  said Change it with something but avoid black.

✦ Ibn Abbas Radi Allahu Anhu reported that Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam said Some people will dye their hair black like the breasts of pigeons at the end of time, but they will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise.

Sunan Nasaii, Book 48, 5078-Sahih

✦ Thabit Radi Allahu Anhu reported that Anas bin Malik Radi Allahu Anhu was asked about the dyeing (of the hair of) Allah's Apostle Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam   Thereupon he said (They were so few) that if I so liked I could count their number in his head, and he further said: (That is) he did not dye. Abu Bakr Radi Allahu Anhu, however, dyed them and so did Umar Radi Allahu Anhu dye them with pure henna.
